Definition
Example
Noun
Noun is a word which names a person, place, quality, feeling or anything that we can think of.
Ramesh, Agra, Red Fort, Ramayana, Ignorance, Copper etc.
Pronoun
Pronoun is a word which we used instead of noun to avoid the repetition of a noun.
I, We, You, He, She, It etc.
Adjective
An adjective is a word that describes a noun or a pronoun or adds to its meaning.
Kind, Smart, Honest, Great, Many, This, etc.
Verb
A verb is a word in a sentence that expresses action or a state of being.
The verb tells what someone or something does, did, or will do.
Walk, Talk, Sing, Run, Write, is, am, are, have, has etc.
Adverb
An adverb is a word that modifies (or adds to) the meaning of a Verb, and adjective or another adverb.
Quickly, Patiently, Fast, Always, Seldom, After, etc.
Preposition
A Preposition is a word placed before a Noun or a Pronoun to show its relation to some other word in a sentence.
In, On, Of, Besides, Among, Between, Into, Upon etc.
Conjunction
A conjunction is a word which joins together word, phrases, clauses and sentences.
And, But, Since, Though, Until, While, Eitheror etc.
Interjection
An Interjection is an emotion-conveying word in a sentence.
Hurray, Ouch, oh, alas etc.
